Georgetown Historical Society Museum "The best kept secret in Georgetown" The Georgetown Historical Society Museum, located at 510 N. Main St. in Georgetown, sits on the southwest corner of Main and Huffman Streets and was once the Finney home. The "society" inherited this nice little four room home from the defunct Doctor's Fund in the 70's. It had been used as a center for the Sequicentennial celebration and then made into a museum. They will be celebrating 30 years of existence in this home. The four rooms, enclosed back porch, and bath house contain over 250 catalogued items which have been donated by various citizens. The museum is painted in Victorian Beige, Burgundy and Dark Green on the outside and peppered in early American prints on the inside. It is "home" to Mary Louise & Geneva Russ's baby carriage, Mary Starks 1946 red and white coverlet, several paintings by Ruby Sanders, Effie Henderson, and Lela Ciamino, a Murphy bed and old cook stove from the Robinett estate, lots of quilts and scrapbooks, an old wooden rocking chair carved with names of the 1927 football team, artifacts from the old Gerrib Theatre, fire department, miners display, the Civil War, WWI and WWII.
